This Colt single action "peacemaker" was made in 1896. This pistol is the most desired of all

antique handguns. Not just the simple fact that it is a Colt and a SAA, but it's frame is made of steel, not wrought iron.

The most desired SAA antique is the 161,000 to 181,000 range of hand guns. These guns can be re-barreled, and re-cylindered

to many different calibers and can handle a lifetime of smokeless loads. I have seen a magnum .357 built on a antique

frame in this range. Now I usually throw a little caution in, heck, why beat on a 107 year old gun?

This gun was originally nickle plated. The previous owner didn't like the nickle flaking off, so decided to have the

pistol bead blasted. If you know anything about bead blasting, it gives the gun an even smooth finish and blew away

all traces of the nickle. The gun was disassembled for this otherwise the blaster would not have gotten every nook and corner.

The letter on the gun is pretty nice overall, the barrel address is a little faded, but readable. The grips are outstanding and

give a nice feel and weight to the gun. Real Stag grips for Colt SAA's is very valuable and desired.

The guns bore is about a 7 of 10. It does not have any pitting marks, but she's seen some rounds. I shot the gun

with 45 long colt cowboy loads, and it did just fine on paper. The action is smooth and all 4 clicks are audible, someone might tell you

there is 3 clicks but there is 4 on a excellent mechanical gun.

So what does it take, to bring this delightful arm home? My asking price is $2500.00, as always 3 day inspection is honored, you pay shipping

both way should you change your mind. However once you hold this true cowboy gun, you'll be at the range quicker then you know.

Thank you,
